Privacy & confidentiality

All psychological sessions are confidential with strict confidentiality protocols in place to protect you. Your personal and health information will be treated with the professional confidentiality appropriate to the Code of Ethics of the Australian Psychological Society and the relevant Victorian Government legislation. We will only use or disclose this information for the purpose for which it was given, that is, to assist you with your presenting issues. Please note that there are some limits to confidentiality which will be discussed with you during your first session.

In accordance with the Victorian Health Records Act you are able to have access to the information that might be recorded about you and kept in our files. Any request to access your information must be lodged with your psychologist. Your request will then be responded to within 7 days; however, because this information is often of a complex nature and written in professional language, if you do wish to read your file this will be arranged so that your therapist will be present and will interpret the recorded information with you and will likely result in the cost of a standard session.

Please refer to the privacy policy for details about how your information is kept private and confidential.
